When creating the logo for Davis Dna Designs, my main focus and objective was to produce a design that emphasized uniqueness. The typeface I used for the design is called FF Dax OT Regular and was purchased from Font Shop. Below are a range of sketches that I created during the design process.
I learnt the necessity of the sketchpad process from David Airey. I have found that this part of the design process is incredibly important, if not, the most important stage. When designing a logo, getting everything down on paper first is the key to producing best possible idea.
Below are a few ideas that I played around with whilst developing the logo, before creating the final design.
I wanted to create a logo that was simple and clean. I decided not to incorporate a symbol and stuck with a wordmark.
Little know fact, the shade of blue was changed around six times before I was happy with it. In the future. I hope that my logo can be refined even further so that people recognise it without losing it’s identity.
It took me a long while to decide on the final design and I had fun developing ideas for the logo. Did any sketches or concept ideas catch your eye? And do you think the right choice was made?___________________________________________________________________________ Follow Davis Dna Designs on Twitter or subscribe to new posts via RSS.
